GLENCOE – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers earned a pair of pool play wins in the Glencoe Softball Classic on Friday. They defeated Ohatchee 5-2 and blanked Wellborn 8-0.
In the win over Ohatchee, Jordyn Walker doubled, walked, scored a run and had two RBIs. Mattie Payne and Natalie Baty both collected a hit, a walk and a run. Harlie Nelson and Reece Patterson both posted a hit and scored a run. Haley Allen and Za’Niya Kyle both contributed a hit and drove in a run. Emma Haney had a walk and a RBI.
Patterson picked up the win in the circle. She tossed four innings of four-hit ball, giving up two earned runs with a walk and a pair of strikeouts.
In the win over Wellborn, Baty tossed a no-hitter with four walks and five strikeouts. She also had a hit, a walk and a RBI at the plate.
Walker doubled, scored two runs and had three RBIs. Patterson added a pair of hits, a run and two RBIs. Haney had two hits, a run and a RBI. Nelson came away with a hit two runs and a RBI. Kyle contributed a hit and scored a run.
Cedar Bluff takes on Gadsden City in bracket play at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
