CENTRE – The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office welcomed participants to its Training Center this weekend for a Women’s Firearms Safety Course designed to promote safe firearm handling, responsible ownership, and practical firearms’ education.

The course provided attendees with instruction on the fundamentals of firearm safety, including safe handling techniques, proper firearm operation, and the responsibilities associated with firearm ownership. Following the classroom portion of the program, participants had the opportunity to apply what they learned during a live-fire range session under the guidance of certified Sheriff’s Office instructors.

Sheriff’s Office officials said the course is part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to public safety and community education by providing citizens with the knowledge and confidence needed to handle firearms safely and responsibly.

“We appreciate everyone who attended and their commitment to learning safe firearm practices,” the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “We look forward to hosting additional firearms safety courses in the future.”
The Sheriff’s Office encourages community members to watch for announcements regarding upcoming training opportunities and other public safety education programs.
