UPDATED: Sand Rock volleyball rallies past Spring Garden

SPRING GARDEN – In a rematch from last Saturday’s Cherokee County Volleyball Tournament championship, the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats rallied from a set down to take an area match at Spring Garden on Thursday. The scores were 16-25, 25-20, 25-22 and 25-23.

Katelyn St. Clair led the Lady Wildcats (35-6) with 19 kills and nine digs. McKenna Ballenger added 40 assists and 11 digs. Lanie Henderson delivered 13 kills and four blocks. Caley Garrett contributed 30 digs and a pair of aces.

Chloe Stephens collected 21 digs, four aces and two kills. Jadyn Foster came away with eight kills, 11 digs, two blocks, and three aces. Jacey Stephens finished with four kills.

Neely Welsh led Spring Garden (27-8) with 14 kills, four aces, two digs, two blocks and an assist. Alle Jennings added nine kills, an ace and a block. Suzie Carter came away with seven kills and four blocks. Aubrey Sadler delivered eight kills. Abbey Steward contributed 30 assists and a pair of aces. Maggie Jarrett had an assist and Timi Scoggin finished with an ace.

Spring Garden plays in a tournament at Decatur Heritage on Saturday. Sand Rock hosts Cedar Bluff and Fyffe on Monday.
