A truck stolen out of Etowah County – was later found in the Flat Rock area of DeKalb County.
According to a just released report from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, just over a week ago, on Tuesday, September 7th an Ider Police Officer spotted a vehicle which matched the description of one reported stolen out of Rainbow City.
The officer then pulled the suspicious vehicle over near the intersection of Highways 117 and 75 in Ider, and the driver, identified as 25 year old Sheena Elaine Haggard of Higdon was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree (total of five counts) and Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree.
The DeKalb County Investigation Unit and DeKalb County Drug and Interdiction Unit had been working with Rainbow City Police on that case.
Sheriff Nick Welden said this is an on-going investigation and that additional charges could be forthcoming.
DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident: “It’s great to see Departments working together and not letting jurisdiction lines hinder their willingness to serve and do what’s right for the citizens in ALL areas. True dedication by the Ider PD, Rainbow City PD and DCSO to shut down what could have been the beginning of a multi area crime ring.”
