Despite not having played a game yet, the Cedar Bluff Tigers (0-0) moved up a spot to No. 8 in the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 1A high school football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.

The Tigers open the 2021 season Thursday night at Spring Garden (0-0).

Speaking of Spring Garden, the Panthers maintained their No. 7 ranking in the Class 2A poll. Class 3A Piedmont (0-0) holds steady at No. 2. The Bulldogs host Class 4A Cherokee County (0-0) on Friday night.
