Alabama State Troopers Have Busy Day in Cherokee County Tuesday

Alabama State Troopers made a day of it in Cherokee County on Tuesday as they responded to three separate accidents – two of which resulted in injuries.

Around 1:45 that afternoon troopers along with members of the McCord’s Fire Department and Floyd EMS were dispatched to a motorcycle crash taking place on County Road 29 near Spring Creek. Fire Chief Rich Lindsey informed WEIS Radio News that the adult male driver apparently lost control of the bike and left the roadway.

Units initially called for a medical helicopter, however that was later cancelled, and the man was carried to Floyd Medical Center via ambulance, for treatment of what was described as “non-life threatening trauma,”

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.

There was a four-vehicle accident on Alabama Highway 9, shortly after 5:30pm, involving a ‘92 Ford being driven by a male resident of Cedar Bluff; a 2011 Ford being driven by a male resident of Cedar Bluff; a 2019 Toyota being driven by a male from Centre, and a male from Centre in a 2018 Infiniti.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in that mishap.

And, at approximately 9:35 that night – troopers worked a single-vehicle crash on Highway 411, which involved a 2001 Mercedes.  That wreck resulted in the driver, a male resident of Centre, being injured.

No additional information regarding the extent of those injuries has been made available.

All three wrecks remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
