Cedar Bluff’s Nick Sawyer shot 2-under-par 69 to win medalist honors and host Glencoe shot 339 to win the boys team title in the Links at Briarmeade Invitational.
Sawyer, an Appalachian State golf signee, won two by shots over his brother Mark and seven over Glencoe’s Brock McNeely. In addition to McNeely, the Yellow Jackets counted 84s from Justin Graham and Hunter Fordham and a 95 from Isaac Barkley. They won by 18 over Hokes Bluff.
On the girls side, Glencoe’s Lauren Cole shot 79 to win medalist honors and Oak Mountain shot 259 to win the team title. Cole won by five shots over Oak Mountain’s Sarah Hartsell. Oak Mountain won the team title by 30 over Glencoe.
