iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Most of us eat too much on Super Bowl Sunday, and if your waistline isn’t proof enough, consider what people are going to eat at Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium, home to Super Bowl LII.
Chef James Mehne and his team of 2,000 at Aramark, which provides the food and beverage provider for the stadium, has crunched some numbers, and they’re jaw-dropping — or jaw-tiring.
The company tells ABC affiliate KTSP-TV what’s expected to go down during the Big Game:
· Hot Dogs/ Brats/ Sausage: 32,000
· Peanuts/ Nuts: 10,000
· Specialty Sandwiches: 11,000
· Pretzels: 6,500
· Nachos: 7,000
· Chicken Tenders: 9,000
· Pounds of Cheese Curds: 2,600
· Pounds of Chicken: 3,000
· Pounds of Shrimp: 1,000
· Pounds of Fruit: 1,000
· Pounds of Vegetables: 2,000
· Gallons of Ketchup: 650
· 12 oz. Cups of Coffee: 3,500
· Bottles of Water: 45,000
Additionally, the chef has come up with some special meals just for the match-up between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots, including a New England Clam Roll and a South Philly Roast Pork Sandwich.
Two signature cocktails will also be whipped up at the stadium: The Wicked Red for the AFC champs the Patriots, featuring cranberry juice, rum and blueberry; The Eagles get a jersey-matching Midnight Green Punch, made of vodka, sour apple flavoring, and lemon lime soda. Both come served in a souvenir Super Bowl mason jar.
