Rainbow City Educator Honored with Statewide Teaching Excellence Award

RAINBOW CITY — The City of Rainbow City is recognizing a longtime local educator for her outstanding contributions to the classroom and the community.
Kristi Smith of Rainbow Middle School has been awarded the prestigious Travelers Award for Teaching Excellence, an honor that highlights exceptional dedication and impact in the field of education. State Representative Mack Butler recently presented Smith with an official resolution from the Alabama House of Representatives in recognition of her achievements and years of service.
Smith, who has spent 32 years in education, has built a reputation for excellence both inside and outside the classroom. City officials noted that her commitment to student success and her ability to positively influence generations of students played a key role in earning the distinction.
In announcing the recognition, the City of Rainbow City praised Smith’s continued dedication to her profession and her lasting impact on the local community, noting that her work reflects the high standard of education valued throughout the city.
The award serves as a testament to Smith’s career and the difference she has made in the lives of her students over more than three decades in education.
