SAND ROCK – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning and pitchers Macy Martin and Emma Sipsy made them hold up in the Lady Wildcats’ 3-0 softball win over Glencoe on Thursday.

Martin tossed five innings of one-hit ball with three walks and seven strikeouts. Sipsy allowed one hit in two innings with no walks and two strikeouts.

Martin also led the Lady Wildcats (22-19-1) at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Molly Grace Lay tripled. Sipsy added a hit, a walk, and scored a run. Madison Walker and Raven Todd both finished with a hit.

Sand Rock begins Class 2A, Area 13 tournament play against Cedar Bluff on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jacksonville State University.
