Tyrese addresses recent emotional video: “I’m actually okay”

ABC/Jeff Niera(LOS ANGELES) — After Tyrese posted an emotional video on Facebook on Wednesday, pleading to see his 10-year-old daughter, Shayla, the singer and actor is now addressing what some called a meltdown, saying he’s “actually OK.”

In an Instagram video posted Wednesday night, Tyrese explained that his tearful video was not a stunt, but was as a reaction to his current situation.

“Contrary to what some of ya’ll may believe. I’m actually okay,” Tyrese said. “And I’m not putting this up to calm people down. If people having conversations about what’s going on in my personal life, my private life has always been private.”

He continued: “Everybody who’s ever been in my life will tell you, ‘I’ve never see him that way. I’ve never see him have a meltdown.’ I’m not singer, I’m not an actor. I’m not a producer, I’m not a writer. I’m not a celebrity. I’m a father.”

Tyrese also took time to set the record strait about his intentions, adding it was “not about men versus women — this is men versus liars.”

In October, Tyrese reportedly became the target of a Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Service investigation after his ex, Norma, claimed he allegedly struck their child. She later accused him of violating a restraining order by flying a banner over Shayla’s school and allegedly sending her gifts.  Norma’s asked a judge for a permanent restraining order against Tyrese and is seeking full physical and legal custody of Shayla, claiming she fears Tyrese might take the girl overseas to Dubai.

Tyrese has denied all allegations.

Also Tuesday, Tyrese posted an Instagram note saying if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reprises his role as Luke Hobbs in the next Fast and Furious movie, he’s out, furthering rumors of a feud between the two.
