Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Holds “Board Retreat” at the Bluffs

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Board Members recently held their Board Retreat at The Bluffs Overlooking Weiss Lake Conference Cottage.  While the atmosphere was relaxing and the breathtaking view was enjoyed, the board members worked together on teambuilding activities and planned out their three year strategic plan by analyzing our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.  (SWOT).  The Chamber is focused on the businesses that make up Cherokee County.  Their desire is to help the businesses prosper and continue to grow by providing jobs in  our area.

The Chamber’s 2020 Vision is to continue to promote and advance the business and industry economy of Cherokee County.  The Chamber works hard to CONNECT with local business and civic leaders by hosting a monthly breakfast, business workshops and other meetings.  The Chamber works to INFORM members of trends and ideas that are emerging in today’s environment.   The Chamber ADVOCATES for the small businesses at local, state and federal levels.  The Chamber works to DEVELOP our community both culturally and economically.  You can get involved in the Chamber simply by becoming a member.  The Chamber works to PROMOTE our county to attract tourists, residents, and commerce.

Over the next three years our goals are to further the work of our Chamber Committees (Membership, Economic Development, Education, Hospitality & Tourism, Budget & Finance, Nominating, Events, Leadership Cherokee and Youth Leadership Cherokee), seek new funding resources to expand our capability to promote the county in new ways, purchase and install a webcam to connect to our website, add new and exciting perks to our monthly breakfasts, host “Chamber Night” at local businesses, and promote Chamber members through a “Member Spotlight” program.

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce is engaged throughout our county, due to all the partnerships we have built and continue to build.  We appreciate all the support to the Chamber and allowing us to be a part of the business community and growth in Cherokee County.

You can connect to the Chamber through the web at cherokee-chamber.org, facebook, instagram, google+, blog, and download our FREE Weiss Lake app.
