FBI and Gadsden Police Offer $5,000 Reward for Bank Robber

Acting Special Agent in Charge (SAC) David W. Archey and Gadsden Police Chief Lamar Jaggears announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the subjects responsible for a bank robbery that occurred on May 17, 2016, at Regions Bank at 2001 Rainbow Drive in Gadsden, Alabama. The reward is being provided by Regions Bank.

On May 17, 2016, at approximately 3:32 p.m., two unknown male subjects (UNSUB) entered the bank. UNSUB #1 fired a round in the bank and then jumped over the teller counter and demanded money. UNSUB #2 also jumped the teller counter and demanded money.

The UNSUBS are described as follows:

• UNSUB #1: Approximately 5’7” to 5’10” tall, thin build, wearing a black hoodie with “Panama City Beach” on the front, dark jeans, and armed with a semi-automatic handgun
• UNSUB #2: Approximately 5’3” to 5’6″ tall, red shirt, sunglasses, bandana covering face, gloves with three fingers grey and yellow on top, carrying a blue bag

Both subjects fled out the front door of the bank and into a white SUV believed to be an early 2000s GMC Yukon or possibly Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling south on Rainbow Drive. Subjects fired two rounds at witnesses who were giving chase. There were no injuries.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
