If your child has a slight or severe allergy to nuts, you know how careful you need to be with their lives — just a trace can impact the breathing of those who are allergic.
Now, new recommendations are out to help you safely introduce your infants to nuts.
Firstly, start kids out with other foods before starting peanut butter, for example. It’s not a good first food. When ready to start, take a tiny bit mixed with water and wait 10 minutes to see if there are any reactions. Give a little more and then observe for two hours.
Never give babies whole peanuts — it’s a choking hazard. And if your baby has eczema or an egg allergy and allergies run in your family, definitely talk to your pediatrician first.
