Fugitive From Missouri Captured in Cherokee County

CaldwellInformation has now been released regarding the arrest of a fugitive out of Missouri, Friday in Cherokee County.

Michael Lee Caldwell, age 58, was arrested in the Gnatville community, off County Road 18.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver said his office received information that Caldwell was armed, and driving a stolen pickup truck in the southern portion of Cherokee County.

Detectives from Scott County Missouri confirmed that the subject was wanted for stealing a a truck in their county, and had fled the state.

Local investigators quickly converged on the area and arrested Caldwell, charging him with Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree; a Hold has been placed on him for property theft and probation violation charges in Missouri. He remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting bond and extradition by Missouri authorities.
