An Etowah County man has been arrested and charged with domestic violence after committing a burglary.
Investigator Haydyn Hedgspeth said that 25 year old Jeremy Vann Cole of Gadsden, is charged with one count of second degree domestic violence and one count of second degree burglary.
The incident occurred Thursday while deputies were responding to a 9-1-1 call of a burglary in progress at a residence on Northshore Drive, in the Tidmore Bend community.
Cole allegedly had broking into the residence and assaulted a male with a baseball bat.
Screams from a female were heard outside the home when Chief Deputy Michael Barton made entrance to the residence.
Cole was discovered standing over a bed, with bat in hand, in a heated verbal argument with the female.
Cole quickly complied with commands to drop the bat and was taken into custody.
He is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond and was under the supervision of the Court Referral Office at the time of his arrest.
