Mr. Van Strickland age 77 passed away Sunday January 19th at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Strickland will be 3: PM Wednesday January 22nd at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Allen and Rev. Billy Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6: PM- 8: PM Tuesday.

The family will accept flowers, or memorials may be made to East Centre Baptist Church Merry Makers.

Pallbearers are Al Acrey, Steve Cunningham, Jack Waters, Henry Allen “Plug” Ray, Ken Reason and Elmer Davis Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers are the men of “Jacks Roundtable”.

Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife Betty Cunningham Strickland, Sons; Stacy (Susan) Strickland of Lafayette, GA, Stan (Nancy) Strickland of Opelika, AL, grandchildren; Rob Strickland, Kerry Strickland, chosen daughter Jennifer Pope, several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Strickland was a native of Polk County GA, the son of the late Rev. N.S. and Lillian Blythe Strickland. Van was retired from Inland Container with 42 years of service and was a member of East Centre Baptist Church. Mr. Strickland served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
