Gadsden Man Charged with Attempted Murder

A Gadsden man has been charged with attempted murder, after attacking a family member with a sword.

Glen Ivan Green, age 38, allegedly attacked his brother 39 year old Toby Green around midnight on November 9th; according to reports, officers arrived to find the victim bleeding from multiple cuts to the head.

The website al.com, is reporting that the incident had taken place at a residence in the 1000 block of Peachtree Street with the victim then fleeing to a nearby home to call police.

Toby Green was transported to Riverview Regional Medical Center for treatment – and was later transferred to UAB; he suffered several gashes to the head, a skull fracture and a puncture wound under the left arm – fortunately, no vital organs were harmed in the attack.

Police went to the Peachtree Street home and found evidence of a struggle including blood on the walls, broken furniture and a sword – but no suspect.

Glen Ivan Green was finally located, and picked up on the attempted murder charge, several days ago.  He is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on bond of $100,000.
