Rome Police Seeking Assistance of the Public

Stealing From Shriner's Guy

Rome Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying an individual believed to have been responsible for stealing a Shriner’s collection bucket from the West Rome Wal-Mart.

According to authorities – the collection bucket was set up at the garden entrance to the store last Saturday (September 14th) afternoon when the suspect grabbed the bucket and ran; the subject is a slender white male who was wearing a purple hat and a purple shirt.  The man fled the area in a dark-colored Mazda RX-7.

Inside that bucket were the Shriner’s house and vehicle keys, along with about $100 in donations to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
