The Piedmont Bulldogs (26-11) baseball season came to an end with a 3-1 loss to fourth-ranked Mars Hill Bible (30-16) on Tuesday.
The two were playing the deciding game of a best-of-three Class 3A quarterfinal series.
The Bulldogs lost game one 4-3 last Friday but rebounded to claim a 1-0 victory to force the tie breaking game which was originally scheduled for Saturday.
That game was rained out and rescheduled for Monday.
However, poor weather forced an additional postponement resulting in the finale being played on Tuesday.
