GADSDEN – The Collinsville Lady Panthers notched a pair of softball wins Saturday. They held off Cleveland 5-4 and blanked Valley head 7-0.
In the win over Cleveland, Ella Coker went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Aubrey Reeves was also 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. Karly Middlebrooks went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run.
Maelee Barkley, Carlee Davis and Gabriella Whitmore each delivered a hit and scored a run. Lexii Burt finished with a hit.
Jemma Smith earned the win after tossing all six innings. She scattered six hits and six strikeouts and didn’t allow an earned run.
Against Valley Head, Burt went 2-for-2 with a double, a run and a RBI. Reeves doubled, scored a run and had two RBIs. Coker had a hit, a walk and two RBIs. Emily Petty had a hit and a run.
Whitmore walked twice and scored a run. Jemma Smith and Middlebrooks both walked and scored a run. Chloe DeBoard walked and Bella Wills scored a run.
Brayleigh Smith earned the win after working five innings. She gave up three hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
Collinsville hosts Asbury on April 1.
