Fast start lifts Gaylesville baseball at Faith Christian

ANNISTON – The Gaylesville Trojans scored three runs in the top of the first inning, three more in the second, and a pair in the third. They closed out the game with a six-run sixth inning in a 14-2 area baseball win at Faith Christian on Tuesday.

Collin and Cole Hendon led the Trojans at the plate. Both went 2-for-4. Collin Hendon had a double, a run and four RBIs. Cole Hendon scored three runs.

Hunter Allmond collected a hit, two walks, three runs and a RBI. Karrson Ray came away with a hit, two walks, three runs and a RBI. Landon Chumbler contributed a hit, a run and two RBIs. Jared Butts had a hit, a walk and a RBI. Alex Baty added a hit and a run. Bradlee Smith and Hayden Dodd both walked and scored a run.

Collin Hendon earned the win on the mound. He tossed all six innings and allowed an earned run on a pair of hits with no walks and 12 strikeouts.

The two teams finish their series at Gaylesville on Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
