Cherokee County Investigators Arrest Wanted Fugitive, 2 others, after a Pursuit in the Spring Garden Area
Cherokee County Investigators – recently observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of the Spring Garden General Store, along U.S. Highway 278. Law Enforcement Officers attempted to make a traffic stop – however the vehicle refused to pull over, and a pursuit towards Georgia ensued. The vehicle finally came to a stop after turning onto County Road 753.
The passengers were detained by officers – however the driver managed to flee on foot; but after searching the wooded area close by, that driver – Jason Lynn Souder, 50 of Cedartown, Georgia – was taken into custody by law enforcement. The passengers, Anna Lee Glaze, age 47 and Jeffery Kent Couzzort, age 52 – both of Cedartown – were also arrested, for the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Souder was charged with Attempting to Elude, also Obstruction of Justice – Giving False ID – the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver Jason Souder also had a Parole Violation out of the state of Georgia – with several other warrants outstanding.
