Lady Warriors win 3 of last 4 volleyball matches

The Cherokee County Lady Warriors improved to 9-2 on the volleyball season Thursday after splitting with Wellborn and area rival Alexandria on Thursday at Alexandria. The Lady Warriors defeated Wellborn 25-16, 25-12 and fell to Alexandria in four sets 25-20, 18-25, 18-25 and 23-25.

In the win over Wellborn, Macy Lea posted 15 assists, two kills, a dig and a block. Ava Haygood added seven kills, three aces, two digs and an assist. Jolie Alexander had two kills and three aces. Libby Curry came away with four kills and an ace. Ellisan Givens delivered 11 digs and three aces. Nevaeh Gaidurgis earned seven kills. Shamiya McElrath had four kills and a dig. Jesslyn Hincy finished with four digs and a pair of aces.

In the loss to Alexandria, Lea gained 32 assists, four digs, a kill and an ace. Raegan Garmany contributed four kills and a block. Haygood collected six kills, three digs, two aces, two assists and a block. Alexander added six kills, two aces and an assist. Curry came away with seven kills and an ace. Givens posted 28 digs, four aces and three assists. Gaidurgis delivered 17 kills, seven digs and an assist. Hincy finished with six digs and an assist.

The Lady Warriors also swept Glencoe and Jacksonville on Monday. They rallied past Glencoe 22-25, 25-19 and 15-10 and Jacksonville 22-25, 25-23 and 15-10.

In the win over Glencoe, Lea managed 27 assists, three kills and three digs. Haygood collected 10 kills, six digs, a block and an ace. Givens posted 15 digs. Gaidurgis gained 12 kills, four digs, a block, an ace and an assist. Hincy had five digs.

Against Jacksonville, Lea accounted for 20 assists, an ace, and a kill. Haygood delivered eight kills, three digs, two aces and a block. Alexander came away with five aces, four digs, a kill and an assist. Givens managed six digs, three aces and three assists. Gaidurgis finished with 11 kills, three digs, a block and an ace.
