Mr. Jerry Paul Weaver, 77 of Leesburg, passed away Sunday August 18 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. He worked many years as the produce manager at Piggly Wiggly in Center where his infectious laugh could be heard echoing all over the store. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Centre, Weiss Lake Antique Power Association, the Monday Night Rook Club and was an avid Alabama football fan.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Bobo Weaver, sister, Karen (Len) Hogan, nieces Kandi (Josh) Garmany, Tina Bobo, Miranda Bobo, nephews Jeff Bobo, and David Bobo, great nephew Jackson Garmany, great niece Abby Garmany, friends Harold Day and Gary “Heavy” Burkalter and several other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Sarah Weaver. 

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 21 at 5:00 pm at Providence Baptist Church, Highway 9 South, Centre. Pallbearers will be Josh Garmany, Jackson Garmany, Ken Woodall, Brandy Pierce, Jeff Bobo, David Bobo and Zac Bobo. 

In lieu of flowers or food, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church, Centre. 

The family would like to express appreciation to the staff and providers of Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Cherokee County Health and Rehab, Floyd EMS and Cherokee Community Dialysis for their care during his lengthy illness.
