ATTALLA– The Attalla Police Department has positively identified human remains found on Bobby Austin Drive as Nathaniel Jackson.
Chief Doug Jordan announced the identification in an update on Jackson’s missing person investigation. He also extended the department’s condolences to Jackson’s family and loved ones.
“This is not the outcome any of us hoped for,” Jordan said. However, he said the identification gives Jackson’s family answers after the uncertainty they have endured.
Jordan also thanked the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and Jacksonville State University Center for Applied Forensics for their assistance. He also recognized the Gadsden Police Department and EquuSearch Midwest.
Volunteers contributed their time and resources to the search, and Jordan thanked them for their support.
The chief asked the community to keep Jackson’s family and loved ones in their thoughts during the days ahead.
