Mr. Earl Willis McPeak, age 101 of Centre passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at his home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Fort Payne, the family will receive friends at the Church 1 hour prior to the service; inurnment of ashes will take place Monday, June 17, 2024 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
He is survived by sons, Michael (Sandra) McPeak, Hillsboro, OR, Clayton Larsen, Boardman, OR, Tom Larsen, Sydney, Australia; daughters, Shari (Tom) Barnello, Tully, NY, Holli Larsen, Centre, AL, Rosanna Bynum, Boise, ID; siblings, Jim (Karen) McPeak, Florence ,OR, Karen Trine, Beaverton, OR, Carol McPeak, Forest Grove, OR, Mary Gager, Shell Knob, MO; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; special friends, Shelby Bruce, Rob McGaughy, Blake & Amanda Boozer.
Earl was a proud WW2 Veteran. He served in North Africa and Northern Italy earning two battle stars for his campaign medals. One for the North Apennines Campaign and one for the PO Valley campaign. In 2016, he was honored to have been chosen to participate in the Honor Flight Program where he visited the war memorials in Washington, DC.
The family suggests donations to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, Fort Payne, AL or Family Care Center, Centre, AL.
