SAND ROCK – The Sand Rock Wildcats swept a pair of varsity area basketball games against visiting Fyffe on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats earned a 71-33 victory, while the Wildcat boys won the nightcap 76-63.
In the girls game, Katelyn StClair delivered 28 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. She was also 8-of-8 from the free-throw line with six steals, five rebounds, three assists and a block for the Lady Wildcats (11-9, 5-0 area).
Zoey Handy had 12 points, five boards, five steals, three assists and a block. Jacey Stephens scored nine points, had six steals and two boards. Kennedy Henderson contributed seven points, 11 rebounds, four steals and an assist. Chloe Stephens and Sherina Foster both finished with five points.
In the boys game, Sand Rock also improved to 5-0 in area play behind 28 points and 10 rebounds from Kaden Justice and Jacob StClair’s triple-double (20 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds).
Bradley Jackson posted 10 points and six boards for the Wildcats (13-6). Ben Dale finished with eight points and six rebounds.
Eli Butts led Fyffe with 19 points.
Both Sand Rock squads play Friday at home against Gaston.
