Cherokee County School Board Meeting For Wednesday May 25, 2022

The Cherokee County School Board held their regular meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting was called to order and the opening prayer was directed toward the families of those affected by the recent Texas school shooting.

The minutes from the May 11th meeting were approved, as well as the April 2022 Financial Report.

Among the topics that were discussed and approved include the $14 Million construction project at Sand Rock High School.  For the complete details on this item, click here.

The 2022-23 Energy Savings Budget was approved for Gaylesville School, along with a host of personnel resignations, certified transfers, certified placements, classified transfers, classified placements, summer positions, supplemental pay, and contract changes. Items 15C2, 15C4, and 15H5 were removed and approved separately, while all other items remained intact and approved as a whole.

There are several job postings available.  Cedar Bluff is searching for a Family and Consumer Science Teacher, a Music Teacher, and a School Custodian.  Gaylesville is also in search of a Music Teacher.

Next Meeting is set for Monday June 6th at 4pm CT.
