There were few changes for area basketball teams in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning.

In the girls rankings, Class 2A Spring Garden (24-1) and Sand Rock (21-4) both maintained their No. 2 and No. 4 spots respectively. Class 3A Collinsville (15-9) moved up two spots to No. 7, while Class 4A Cherokee County (14-6) continued to receive consideration.

On the boys side, Class 2A Spring Garden (14-6) moved up one spot to No. 8. Class 2A Sand Rock (12-12), Class 3A Piedmont (13-7) and Class 4A Cherokee County (10-11) received consideration.
