With coronavirus cases rising across the country and holiday shopping gearing up Walmart has announced that it will restart “metering,” or counting, to limit the number of customers in a store at one time.
Back in April, Walmart started counting customers to make sure there were not more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet of space, or roughly 20% of store capacity. Those limits were loosened over time but will reportedly be reinstituted starting Saturday, unless lower capacities are required by local regulations.
Once a store reaches capacity, shoppers will be admitted on a one in, one out basis.
