During their Tuesday meeting – the Cherokee County Commission adopted a Proclamation recognizing October 14th through 18th as official Chamber of Commerce Week in Cherokee County.

In other business, the Commission approved the hiring of Kim McDaniel as a Probate Office Clerk; appointed Daphne Rogers to the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association to fill a two-year term ending September 30th, 2020 and appointed Teresa Frye, Grant Ratliff and Brad Jacoway to the Department of Human Resources Board to fill six-year terms, ending in October of 2025.
They also approved a Cash Sweep Agreement with People’s Bank; approved a change in the current polling place of Friendship Baptist Church to Berea Church of Christ, and approved a grant application for the 2020 Rebuild Alabama Grant Program for County Road 70.
The next meeting of the Cherokee County Commission is scheduled for Monday October the 28th beginning at 5:00pm in the County Administration Building, located on the Cedar Bluff Road in Centre.
