There was a serious two-vehicle crash on the Chesnut Bypass in Centre Friday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:50am near Subway and CVS and involved a head-on collision between an 18-wheeler and a pickup.
The trailer of the big rig was stretched sideways across the roadway blocking traffic in both directions as emergency personnel responded to the scene and crews worked to clear away debris from the wreck.
It’s unclear at this point what led to the accident taking place. We’ll have more information, once the Centre Police Department accident report is made available.
