Town Of Cedar Bluff Displays New Town Flag In The Park

The Town of Cedar Bluff now has a new official Town Flag flying in the park. During their regular meeting on Monday, the Town Council passed a motion to officially accept the flag designed by a local resident.

Evan Garnett (pictured above with Mayor Tammy Crane) who lives on Rocky Ford Road designed and presented the Town Council and Mayor Tammy Crane with the new flag on Monday night.

Mayor Crane said that she and the Town Council appreciate the effort and support of some youthful interest in the community. The flag is currently and will be flying in park on a regular basis. Crane said that there will also be a link to available soon, if anyone is interesting in purchasing one for your business or home.

In other business, following a brief public hearing, the council approved an alcohol license for Jake’s On The Lake which is Cedar Bluff’s newest restaurant located on the lake at Graves Three Rivers Landing. Centre resident Jake Graves is the owner of the facility.

It is hopeful that Jake’s will be open by June 28th.

The council also accepted the monthly report from Cedar Bluff Police Chief Steve Walden.

A resolution was adopted approving the closing of a portion of Cross Street behind the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church. This is being done as the church is preparing to do some expansion work in the near future.

Citing individuals using the restrooms in the park for personal use, effective immediately the bathrooms will be locked after dark and will be reopened the following morning.

Mayor Crane also informed the council that town attorney Laura Lloyd is currently looking at drafting a Vicious Dog Ordinance for the town. The matter will be further addressed at a later time as there are still several variables that have to be worked out.
