A high-speed pursuit that began on Highway 27 north in neighboring Floyd County, Georgia on Tuesday afternoon ended with the driver of the car being “pitted” – hit with a long list of charges – and offered accommodations at the Floyd County Jail.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a trooper attempted to stop a Dodge 300 traveling 80 mph in a 65 mph speed zone.  The vehicle sped off at a high rate of speed.

The trooper attempted a PIT maneuver that was unsuccessful near the Floyd County line.

At Highway 140, a second GSP unit joined that pursuit, which continued southbound on 27 with the driver of the Dodge entering the northbound lanes.  A third GSP unit joined the pursuit near the Armuchee Connector and performed a PIT maneuver on the Dodge.

The driver stopped and fled the vehicle on foot and was apprehended a short time later.

34-year old Ketori Rashon Woods stands charged with aggressive driving, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving on a suspended or revoked license, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, misdemeanor obstruction of officers, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, fleeing or attempting to elude, texting while driving, DUI, no seat belt, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving without insurance, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, speeding, improper lane change, failure to obey traffic control devices, following too closely and driving too fast for conditions.
