GLENCOE– Etowah County Schools will honor Scarlett Farley’s 18 years of school-board service with a public reception Wednesday, October 21.

The reception will take place from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. in the Glencoe High School Library. The school system also invites community members to attend and recognize her service to District 2 and the Etowah County Board of Education.

In its announcement, the district highlighted Farley’s commitment and contributions to local schools and the community. The gathering will offer residents an opportunity to express their appreciation in person.

A Background in Education

According to the school system’s board directory, Farley represents the Glencoe School District as the board’s Place 2 representative. Her connection to education also extends beyond her board seat.

During an April 14 appearance before the Southside City Council, Farley described herself as a lifelong educator. The city’s official meeting minutes also record that she had served in various educational roles.

Meanwhile, Wednesday’s reception will focus on the 18 years of board service recognized in the school system’s invitation. Organizers encourage the community to join them in celebrating that milestone.
