CAVE SPRING– The City of Cave Spring will begin reflecting new utility rates on bills issued Aug. 18.
Customers inside the city limits should see an overall increase of about $2.90 per billing cycle.
The changes include a 2.5% increase in water and sewer rates. The city will also raise its garbage collection fee by $1, from $18.50 to $19.50.
In addition, the fire protection fee will increase by $1. That charge will rise from $17 to $18.
Customers Outside City Limits Face Smaller Change
Customers who live outside the Cave Spring city limits will see only the 2.5% water rate increase.
Garbage collection and fire protection fees do not apply to those customers.
The Cave Spring City Council approved the adjustments to address rising costs for operations, equipment, and infrastructure.
City officials said the additional revenue will help support reliable services while allowing the city to maintain and improve essential infrastructure.
