GADSDEN– The Gadsden State Police and Public Safety Department has named Tracy Heard as its new Campus Safety Specialist.
The department announced the appointment as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen safety across Gadsden State Community College campuses.
According to the department, Heard brings many years of public safety experience to the position. She will focus on protecting students, employees, visitors, and the college community.
The new position will also increase coordination between Police and Public Safety and other departments across Gadsden State.
As Campus Safety Specialist, Heard will help coordinate training and emergency drills. Her responsibilities will also include safety technology and state-mandated safety requirements.
The department said the position creates another opportunity to strengthen campus safety through cooperation across the college.
Gadsden State’s Police and Public Safety Department provides security and emergency response services across the college’s campuses. The department also oversees several areas related to campus safety and emergency preparedness. (Gadsden State Community College Catalog)
The department congratulated Heard on the appointment and said it looks forward to what the new position will bring to Gadsden State.
