Centre Man Arrested on Multiple Child Sexual Abuse Material Charges Following ICAC Investigation

CENTRE- Malaki Ray Sipsy, 21, of Centre was arrested by the Centre Police Department in reference to an ongoing ICAC Cyber tip received in late January 2026.

In January 2026, Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga received an ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Cyber tip concerning Child Sexual Abuse Material being distributed through an online social media platform. The cyber tip provided the evidence, and also included leading information to establish a suspect with an address within the City Limits of Centre.

As the investigation developed, the suspect was identified as Malaki Ray Sipsy, 21 of Centre. Chief Inv. Randy Mayorga contacted the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit for assistance in the execution of a search warrant where it resulted in several electronics being seized. Cherokee County Sherrif’s officer Chief Inv. Brian Gilliland was able to provide further assistance in obtaining and extracting data from those devices. During the review of the extracted data, Child Sexual Abuse Material videos were found. Additionally, more Child Sexual Abuse Material images of minors were discovered on a device. These images of minors were manipulated and altered using Artificial Intelligence.

Currently, Sipsy is being held on 4 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and 122 counts of Attempted Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material, both under COA 13A-012-192(b).

Parents, Guardians, and Custodians are encouraged to manually check and place social media apps on the phones of their kids to “private” with strict parental consents.

The Centre Police Department wants to extend a great amount of appreciation to the Cherokee County Sherrif’s Investigators and Chief Inv. Brian Gilliland for their assistance on this case. Please note, any and all person(s) charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
