A manhunt ensued for over an hour in the Alexis/Mud Creek area for a male wanted out of Georgia on several felony charges – possession of a firearm during a crime, terrorist threats and acts, and probation violation in Floyd County, Georgia.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, investigators, Leesburg Police, and Cedar Bluff Police were involved in the search. The subject was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported. The subject was identified as Eric Carl Virta.
