Burgess Delivers State of Cherokee County Address at Chamber Breakfast

Centre- Cherokee County Probate Judge and County Commission Chair Tim Burgess delivered the annual State of Cherokee County address during the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly breakfast on Thursday, February 12, at the Chamber office.

The breakfast, held at 8 a.m. on the second Thursday of each month, provides an opportunity for Chamber members to network, socialize, and stay informed about developments within the Chamber and across Cherokee County. The event also regularly highlights local businesses, special events, and milestones. Last month’s breakfast featured a celebration of Cherokee County’s 190th anniversary.

This month’s program centered on the annual county update, with Burgess addressing a wide range of topics including tax revenues, the county budget, operations of the Highway Department, elections, recent accomplishments, and priorities for the county moving forward.

The meeting opened with an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Dr. Landon Marks. Breakfast was served by Jack’s and provided by the Chamber Ambassadors. Following a time of fellowship, Chamber Executive Director Joy Perry introduced Burgess for the featured address.
