Gadsden, Ala. — The Gadsden Police Department has announced the promotion of JD Lowry to the rank of sergeant, recognizing his experience, leadership, and years of dedicated public service.

Lowry’s law enforcement career has included service on patrol, assignments across multiple divisions within Criminal Investigations, and work with the Etowah County Joint Special Operations Group (JSOG). Department officials say his broad background and steady presence have made him a valuable asset to both the department and the community it serves.

In announcing the promotion, the department cited Lowry’s proven ability to work complex cases, operate in high-level joint operations, and maintain professionalism in every role he has held.

Police leadership congratulated Sgt. Lowry on earning his new rank, noting that his experience and commitment will continue to benefit the department as it grows and adapts to serve the citizens of Gadsden.
