Centre Firefighters Begin EMT School to Enhance Emergency Response in Centre
From the Centre fire Department:

Centre, AL – Three dedicated Centre firefighters have begun training in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) school, a major step toward improving emergency response and medical services for the residents of Centre.
This initiative will allow the firefighters to provide critical medical support on-scene, bridging the gap between emergency response and advanced medical care. By adding EMT-certified personnel to the front lines, the City of Centre is strengthening its ability to respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies.
“We are incredibly proud of our firefighters who are stepping up to expand their skills,” said Fire Chief Robert Pace. “This training represents a significant investment in public safety, ensuring that when residents call for help, our team is even more prepared to meet their needs.”
Importantly, this is the first of several EMT classes planned for our firefighters, marking the beginning of a long-term effort to increase the number of medically trained responders across the community. Each new class will add to the depth of service and ensure continued growth in public safety capabilities.
The Centre Fire Department extends special thanks to Mayor Mark Mansfield and the Centre City Council for making this advancement possible through their continued commitment to providing the necessary resources and support.
The three firefighters will complete their EMT training in the coming months and join the growing number of first responders in Cherokee County equipped with advanced medical skills. This achievement represents not only professional growth for the firefighters but also a stronger, safer community for the citizens they serve.
