Oxford Exchange Shooting Leaves One Person Injured

OXFORD– The Oxford Exchange shooting Wednesday evening left one person injured, according to the Oxford Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 7:40 p.m. on July 15. When they arrived, officers found a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

Oxford Health Systems personnel immediately provided medical aid. Emergency personnel then transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

Police Say There Is No Known Public Threat

Oxford Police said the Oxford Exchange shooting remains under active investigation. However, authorities said there is no known threat to the public.

Police are withholding the victim’s identity out of respect for the individual and their family. No additional information has been released.

The Oxford Police Department asked the community to keep the victim, their family and everyone affected by the shooting in their thoughts and prayers.
