
ANNISTON – City leaders recently toured the Anniston Army Depot and met with representatives of the Anniston Munitions Center to learn more about the facility’s operations and discuss future opportunities for partnership, economic growth and innovation.
According to the City of Anniston, City Manager Matt Caballero, Economic Development Director Aaron Norris, Ward 3 Councilman Joe Harrington, Ward 4 Councilwoman Julie Moss and Mayor Ciara Smith-Roston participated in the visit.
During the tour, city officials received an overview of the important work being carried out at the Anniston Army Depot and the Anniston Munitions Center, while discussing ways the city can continue supporting the nation’s defense mission and strengthen partnerships with key community assets.
City officials noted that Anniston is uniquely positioned to support military readiness through its relationship with the Anniston Army Depot, the Anniston Munitions Center and the Anniston Regional Airport.
The City of Anniston said discussions focused on identifying opportunities for continued community growth while supporting the people, infrastructure and institutions that play a vital role in both the region and the nation.
City officials also expressed appreciation to the teams at the Anniston Army Depot and the Anniston Munitions Center for hosting the visit and for their continued service and contributions to national defense.
