Middlebrooks, Davis power Collinsville past Fyffe in DeKalb County Softball Tournament

RAINSVILLE – Karly Middlebrooks went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, two runs and five RBIs in leading the Collinsville Lady Panthers to a 14-4 softball win in the first round of the DeKalb County Softball Tournament on Friday.

Bella Wills went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Carlee Davis homered, walked twice, scored two runs and had three RBIs.

Ella Coker was 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs and a RBI. Jemma Smith went 1-for-3 with a walk, three runs and a RBI. Aubrey Reeves added a hit, a walk and two runs. Gabriela Whitmore went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run. Maelee Barkley scored twice.

Smith earned the win after working five innings. She gave up four earned runs on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

After losing to Plainview 15-0 in the winners bracket, Collinsville plays Fyffe again on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
