Collinsville baseball rallies past Brewer 7-4 in Gulf Coast Classic

GULF SHORES – Mason McAteer and Gavin Lang both belted three hits to lead the Collinsville Panthers to a 7-4 baseball win in the Gulf Coast Classic in Gulf Shores on Tuesday.

Collinsville rallied from an early 4-0 deficit with a run in the top of the second and third innings, two in the fourth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh.

McAteer tripled and had a RBI. Lang walked twice, scored a run and had two RBIs. Sylas Adams added a pair of hits, three runs and a RBI. Jeremiah Killian doubled and drove in a run. Jameson Coker contributed a hit, a walk and two runs. Shaun Stewart finished with a hit.

Will Edmondson earned the win in relief of Coker after working 5 2/3 innings. He allowed no runs on one hit with two walks and seven strikeouts. Zach Clanton tossed an inning of one-hit ball with a pair of strikeouts.

The Panthers play two games on Wednesday, beginning with Morristown West (Tenn.) at 4:30 p.m., followed by Oak Grove at 7 p.m.
