Cherokee County was recently listed in a report as one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Alabama, according to an article recently published on AL.com.
The County was in a 3-way tie as the 5th fastest growing county along with Bibb and Autauga, finishing behind Limestone, Baldwin, Madison and Lee Counties.
Cherokee County grew at a rate of 1.7 percent, adding 438 people from July 1, 2023 to July 1, 2024 to reach a total population of 26,138.
Neighboring Cleburne County also ranked in the top 10, tying with Chilton County for 8th place with 1.6% growth.
