RAINSVILLE – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats finished up play in the Gadsden Umpires Tournament on Saturday in Rainsville. They went 1-2 on the day, falling to Plainview 11-1, defeating Valley Head 8-1, and dropping a 12-0 decision to Ashville.
In the loss to Plainview, Aubie Camp led the Lady Wildcats (15-10) by going 2-for-3. Emma Sipsy went 1-for-2 with a RBI. Macy Martin walked and scored a run. Madison Walker drew a walk.
Martin suffered the loss are working three innings. She gave up five earned runs on seven hits with a walk and no strikeouts. Janey Crane tossed two innings and allowed four earned runs on three hits with two walks and a strikeout.
In the win over Valley Head, Walker went 3-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Sipsy was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two runs, and three RBIs. Camp was also 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, and a RBI.
Taylyn Warren and Kinzlee Peek were both 1-for-3. Warren also had a RBI. Molly Grace Lay finished 1-for-4.
Sipsy earned the win after working four innings. She allowed two hits, a walk, and no earned runs with six strikeouts. Martin tossed two innings and allowed just one hit with two strikeouts.
In the loss to Ashville, Camp went 2-for-2 with a double. Martin finished 1-for-2.
