Mr. William Berry Songer III, age 61 of Centre, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM (CST) Sunday, March 2 at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Hunnicutt officiating. Graveside committal services will be held tentatively at 2 PM (CST) Monday, March 3rd at Randolph Memory Gardens located at 64930 AL-22, Roanoke, AL 36274.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Songer; Mother, Doris Bradley; Daughter, Kaitlin Songer; Son, Dustin Songer; Step-son, Paul Carroll; Sister, Keisha (David) Moore; Grandchildren, Nicholas Carroll, Noah Carroll, Asher Carroll, Greysen Carroll; Nephew, Matt (Katie) Thomas; Niece, Krystal (Drew) Walston; Five great nieces and nephews; Sister-in-law, Leisa (David) Anderson; Special Aunt and Uncle, Robert and Linda Johnson, Martha Stamps; Special cousins, Carl and Cindy Gossett; Beloved pets, Gracie, Hope, and Faith.
His family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Songer served in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal, having received an honorable discharge. He loved watching the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, participating in his church softball team, and had recently found a love in gardening.
He is preceded in death by his father, William B. Songer Jr.; Stepfather Marshall Bradley; Aunt, Linda Mundy; Grandparents, Ruben Wilson, Myrtice (Cecil) Young, William B. Songer Sr., and Minnie Songer.
